Two Pitchers Team Up as Nampa Bulldogs Varsity Shuts Out Fruitland

Saturday – March 31, 2018

Nampa Bulldogs Varsity defeated Fruitland 16-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Tanner Glascock induced a fly out from Dallin Wallace to finish off the game.

Jonas Plew led Nampa Bulldogs Varsity to victory by driving in five runs. He went 3-for-4 at the plate. Plew drove in runs on a single in the second, a triple in the third, and a triple in the fourth.

Nampa Bulldogs Varsity got things moving in the first inning. Jeff Davidson grounded out, scoring one run.

Nampa Bulldogs Varsity tallied seven runs in the fourth inning. The offensive firepower by Nampa Bulldogs Varsity was led by Dylan Blass, Plew, Christian Tovar, and Fernando Pina, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

One bright spot for Fruitland was a single by Zack Flannery in the first inning.

Caleb Carlson earned the win for Nampa Bulldogs Varsity. He lasted four innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out nine and walking zero. Glascock threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Ben Shurtleff took the loss for Fruitland. He allowed four hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one.

Nampa Bulldogs Varsity racked up 11 hits in the game. Plew and Carlson all managed multiple hits for Nampa Bulldogs Varsity. Carlson and Plew each collected three hits to lead Nampa Bulldogs Varsity. Nampa Bulldogs Varsity tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Pina led the way with two.

Flannery led Fruitland with one hit in two at bats.

 


 

Two Nampa Bulldogs Varsity Pitchers Combine to Defeat Parma in Shutout Game

Friday – March 30, 2018

Nampa Bulldogs Varsity defeated Parma 24-0 on Friday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Kobe Wells induced a groundout from Saul Gomez to finish off the game.

In the first inning, Nampa Bulldogs Varsity got their offense started. Wells singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.

Nampa Bulldogs Varsity tallied 11 runs in the third inning. The offensive onslaught by Nampa Bulldogs Varsity was led by Christian Tovar, Kawika Deforest, Tanner Glascock, Declan Smith, Wells, and Alex Bernal, who each had RBIs in the inning.

A single by Jesse Camacho in the second inning was a positive for Parma.

Braden Stauffer was the winning pitcher for Nampa Bulldogs Varsity. He went three innings, allowing zero runs on one hit and striking out six. Wells threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.

Kyle Powers took the loss for Parma. He lasted two innings, allowing seven hits and ten runs while striking out one.

Nampa Bulldogs Varsity tallied 13 hits in the game. Bernal, Caleb Carlson, Tovar, and Wells each collected multiple hits for Nampa Bulldogs Varsity. Bernal went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Nampa Bulldogs Varsity in hits. Nampa Bulldogs Varsity didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jeff Davidson had five chances in the field, the most on the team.

Camacho led Parma with one hit in one at bats.

 


Nampa Bulldogs Varsity Overcomes Minico In Face Of Early 3-Run Inning

Thursday – March 29, 2018

Despite allowing three runs in the sixth inning, Nampa Bulldogs Varsity defeated Minico 5-4 on Thursday. Ryan Chandler and Mckay Chandler powered the big inning with RBIs.

Nampa Bulldogs Varsity opened up scoring in the first inning, when Alex Bernal singled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.

Dylan Blass was the winning pitcher for Nampa Bulldogs Varsity. He lasted seven innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out two.

Drake Miller took the loss for Minico. He allowed five hits and five runs over six innings, striking out three and walking one.

Bernal led Nampa Bulldogs Varsity with two hits in three at bats.

Miller went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Minico in hits.
